NORTH WALES TAE KWON-DO TEAM IS A CHARITY KNOCKOUT

On Sunday 29th October members of North Wales Tae Kwon-Do team, made up of students and instructors from clubs in Rhiwabon, Corwen, Denbigh, Ruthin, Colwyn Bay, Llanddudno, Flint, Mold and Deeside, competed for charity at a fight night in Tranmere Rovers football club organised by Mr Richard Saunders from Chester and Wirral Tae Kwon-Do.

The night was to raise money for Claterbridge cancer research and involved teams from North Wales, Chester and Wirral and many other areas of North East England.

The event was attended by around 400 spectators and the atmosphere around the mat was electric.

The teams were split into divisions according to grade, age and sex and the North Wales teams soon made an impact by winning two of the junior divisions and giving an exceptional account of themselves in all the others.  Team coach Ady Jones from Rhiwabon Tae Kwon-Do school, said “All members of the North Wales team have done fantastically well, both in their skills and their attitudes, we’ve been working hard towards this event and it’s great that we can showcase some of our talent while raising money for a good cause”.

The event also featured a light hearted demo, a raffle of some signed footballs and the junior awards were presented by Jason Macattere.

The final tally for the North Wales team was very impressive.
